Stormwater and MS4 Mapping

Client: Holts Summit Stormwater Department

Challenge: The City of Holts Summit, Missouri, operating as a Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4), faced a critical need to effectively locate, identify, and assess their stormwater infrastructure assets.

Solution:

To address this challenge, SchraGIS Solutions was commissioned to develop a comprehensive solution integrated into Holts Summit's expanding ArcGIS Online system.

SchraGIS Solutions utilized the Trimble Catalyst DA2 GPS System, meeting high accuracy standards of 1 cm, to meticulously collect and document the stormwater assets. A custom online GIS platform was engineered specifically for Luebbert Engineering staff to classify and designate outfalls requiring routine inspection within the city.

The culmination of this initiative involved the creation of a digital form tailored for City staff, streamlining the inspection process. This dynamic form automatically populates asset information, enhancing efficiency and accuracy during inspections while seamlessly integrating with the existing system. This comprehensive solution not only aids in asset management but also optimizes the City's stormwater infrastructure maintenance and inspection procedures.
