Emergency Management Services
Client: Holts Summit Fire Protection District
Challenge: The Holts Summit Fire Protection District initiated a comprehensive endeavor to elevate its ISO rating, commencing in 2016. Central to this endeavor were pivotal elements integrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data analysis. After careful consideration, SchraGIS Solutions was selected as the key partner for this ambitious project.
Solution:
Incident Mapping:
An intricate process was devised to meticulously analyze incident data extracted from the Active911 program. This refined methodology enabled the precise geolocation of all District-involved incidents. Leveraging ESRI's ArcGIS Online platform, SchraGIS Solutions adeptly visualized and regularly updated this critical dataset since its inception in 2016.
Fire Hydrant Analysis:
Integral to ISO accreditation, an in-depth evaluation centered on the positioning of fire hydrants concerning nearby structures. SchraGIS Solutions collaborated closely with the Public Water Supply District #1 of Callaway County, Missouri, mapping the water district's fire hydrants and assessing fire pressures at each location. Subsequently, a meticulous correlation between hydrant placements and structures was established, culminating in a comprehensive spatial analysis meticulously compiled and submitted for inclusion in the ISO submittal.
Service Area Analysis:
A crucial facet of the project encompassed a meticulous service area analysis, delineating the reach of stations in relation to every valid 911 address. SchraGIS Solutions conducted this exhaustive analysis, delivering a comprehensive report to the district. Additionally, an interactive ArcGIS Online map was crafted to afford both staff and board members a detailed overview. This invaluable information serves as a foundation for future decision-making regarding potential station expansions.
